Xianbei
The Xianbei were an ancient nomadic people originally from northern China and Mongolia, prominent during the late Han Dynasty and Sixteen Kingdoms period (roughly 2nd to 4th centuries CE). They were known for their skilled horseback riding, archery, and militaristic culture. As they migrated and settled, they established powerful kingdoms and influenced Chinese history, culture, and ethnicity, contributing to the development of various nomadic and Han Chinese interactions. Over time, many Xianbei assimilated into Chinese society, but their legacy persists in historical records and genetic lineages in northern China.
