Xia Dynasty (mythical)

The Xia Dynasty is considered the first dynasty in Chinese history, believed to have existed from around 2070 to 1600 BCE. Although much of its history is shrouded in myth and legend, it represents a significant transition from prehistoric societies to organized statehood in China. The founding figure is often credited as Yu the Great, celebrated for his flood control efforts. The Xia Dynasty is characterized by advances in agriculture, metallurgy, and social structure, but historical evidence remains limited, leading some scholars to debate its existence as a factual dynasty or a legendary narrative.
