Xgeva
Xgeva is a medication containing denosumab, used mainly to prevent bone problems in patients with certain cancers that have spread to the bones or to strengthen bones before surgery or radiation. It works by blocking a protein called RANKL, which signals bones to break down. By doing so, Xgeva helps reduce the risk of fractures, bone pain, and other skeletal issues. It is administered via an injection, usually every four weeks, under medical supervision. This medication is important for maintaining bone health and managing complications related to bone metastases in cancer treatments.
