xeno-transplantation

Xeno-transplantation is the process of transplanting organs, tissues, or cells from one species to another, such as from a pig to a human. This approach aims to address shortages of human donor organs by using animal organs that can be compatible with human biology. However, it presents challenges like immune rejection, where the human body recognizes the animal organ as foreign and attacks it. Researchers are working on techniques to minimize rejection, such as genetic modification of animals or using advanced immunosuppressive drugs, to make xenotransplantation a safe and viable option for saving lives.
