Xbox Live Arcade

Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) was a digital marketplace on Xbox consoles that offered downloadable, often indie or smaller-scale, video games and content. Launched in 2004, it provided players with access to a wide variety of games, including original titles, remakes, and classic arcade favorites, usually at lower prices than retail releases. XBLA emphasized quick, convenient access to gaming experiences without physical discs, fostering a vibrant community and supporting smaller developers. The platform helped shape digital distribution for consoles and contributed to the rise of indie gaming. Xbox Live Arcade was discontinued in 2017 as newer platforms and services evolved.
