Wyoming Women's Suffrage Association

The Wyoming Women’s Suffrage Association was an organization founded in the late 19th century to advocate for women’s right to vote. Wyoming was the first U.S. territory to grant women full voting rights in 1869, partly influenced by this group's efforts. The association worked to promote women’s political equality, encourage women's participation in public life, and support legislation favoring women’s rights. Its activism helped pave the way for the broader women's suffrage movement across the United States, culminating in the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote nationwide.
