Wu (state)
Wu was a small, ancient Chinese state during the Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BCE). Located in what is now eastern China, it was known for its strong military, skilled ironwork, and strategic alliances. Wu played a significant role in regional power struggles among Chinese states, especially under the leadership of King Helü and General Sun Tzu, who authored "The Art of War." Its prosperity and influence eventually declined as larger states emerged and warfare evolved. Wu's history reflects the complex political and military landscape of early Chinese civilization.
