Wrangel's Army
Wrangel's Army was a White (anti-Bolshevik) military force led by General Pyotr Wrangel during the Russian Civil War (1917-1923). Composed mainly of former Tsarist soldiers, it defended parts of southern Russia and Crimea against Bolshevik Red Army advances. Known for its disciplined organization and notable resistance from 1918 to 1920, Wrangel's forces aimed to oppose Soviet Bolshevik control. Ultimately, despite initial successes, the army was overwhelmed by the Red Army's larger, more coordinated forces, leading to its surrender in 1920. Wrangel's Army remains a significant symbol of White resistance during Russia's turbulent revolutionary period.
