Wraith

A wraith is a ghostly or spectral form, often described as a misty or shadowy apparition of a person who has died. It is typically associated with haunting or the emotional residue of someone’s death, sometimes seen before or after the person passes away. In folklore and literature, wraiths symbolize death, loss, or forewarning. Unlike fully-formed spirits, wraiths are generally intangible and fleeting, conveying a sense of sorrow, dread, or mystery. They serve as cultural symbols of transition between life and the afterlife or as omens of impending death.
