WoundVAC
WoundVAC, also known as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), is a medical treatment that uses a specialized vacuum system to promote faster healing of complex or chronic wounds. A foam or gauze dressing is placed in the wound, connected to a device that creates gentle, controlled negative pressure (suction). This removes excess fluid, reduces swelling, and improves blood flow, which helps draw out infection and encourages healthy tissue growth. WoundVAC can accelerate healing, reduce the risk of complications, and often decreases the need for more invasive procedures.
