Worker's Compensation Appeals Board

The Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) is a state agency that resolves disputes between injured employees and employers over workers' compensation claims. When there’s disagreement about benefits, or if a claim is denied, either side can appeal to the WCAB. The Board reviews cases, holds hearings, and issues decisions to ensure injured workers receive fair compensation for workplace injuries. Its purpose is to administer and enforce workers' compensation laws fairly and consistently.
