Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISE)

Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISE) are businesses designed to create jobs and integrate people who face barriers to employment, such as individuals with disabilities, long-term unemployed, or marginalized groups. They operate as regular companies but intentionally prioritize social goals alongside financial sustainability. WISEs provide work opportunities, skills development, and support to help these individuals gain independence and improve their lives. By combining social and economic objectives, WISEs contribute to social inclusion and community development while functioning within a commercial framework.
