Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA)
Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) is a program that provides free counseling to individuals receiving Social Security benefits (such as disability or retirement income) who are considering returning to work or increasing their work activity. WIPA specialists help clients understand how their work might affect their benefits, explain available work incentives, and assist in planning their employment efforts. The goal is to support informed decision-making, remove employment-related fears, and encourage gainful employment while protecting essential benefits.
