Woodcut prints
Woodcut prints are a form of relief printing where an image is carved into the surface of a wooden block. The artist removes non-image areas, leaving the raised parts to hold ink. When the block is pressed onto paper, the inked raised surfaces transfer the image. This process allows for bold, graphic designs with strong lines and contrasts. Historically used for illustrations and art, woodcuts are valued for their craftsmanship and distinctive, textured look. They are one of the oldest printmaking techniques, combining artistic carving skills with printmaking to produce multiple impressions from a single carved block.
