Wood density
Wood density is a measure of how much mass (or weight) is packed into a given volume of wood. It indicates how heavy or light a piece of wood is relative to its size. Higher density woods are generally stronger, more durable, and better for construction, while lower density woods are lighter and often softer. Think of it as the compactness of the wood fibers; dense woods have tightly packed fibers, making them robust, while less dense woods have more air spaces between fibers, making them lighter. Wood density affects how the wood is used in furniture, building, and other applications.
