Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) was a professional league in the United States that operated from 2009 to 2011, featuring top female soccer players. It aimed to provide a competitive platform for women’s soccer, promote the sport's growth, and offer professional opportunities comparable to men's leagues. Despite attracting talented athletes and some popular teams, the league faced financial challenges and organizational issues, leading to its suspension after three seasons.
