Women's Air Corps
The Women's Air Corps (WAC) was a branch of the U.S. military established during World War II to employ women in support roles within the Army Air Forces. It provided trained female personnel to assist with administrative, communications, medical, and technical tasks, freeing male members for combat duties. The WAC was part of broader efforts to expand women's roles in the military and enhance wartime efficiency. It operated from 1942 until 1949, when it was reorganized into the Women's Army Corps (WAC). The organization contributed significantly to the mobilization and success of U.S. military operations during the war.
