Women and Development (WAD)
Women and Development (WAD) is a perspective within the Gender and Development (GAD) framework that emphasizes the importance of women’s roles in economic development. Unlike earlier views that focused solely on women's needs, WAD highlights how women's contributions to development are often overlooked. It argues that true development must involve empowering women not just as beneficiaries of aid, but as active participants in economic and social processes. This approach seeks to address structural inequalities and challenges that hinder women's progress, encouraging policies that promote gender-equitable growth and access to resources.
