WOC (Women of Color)

Women of Color (WOC) refers to women who identify as belonging to racial or ethnic groups that have historically faced systemic marginalization and discrimination, such as Black, Latina, Asian, Indigenous, or mixed heritage women. The term highlights the unique social, economic, and cultural challenges they encounter, often involving intersecting issues of race and gender bias. Recognizing WOC helps emphasize the importance of addressing inequalities and promoting inclusivity, equity, and representation within society and various institutions.
