We Need Diverse Books (WNDB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting diverse representation in children’s and young adult literature. It aims to ensure that stories reflect a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, allowing all readers to see themselves represented and to broaden their understanding of others. WNDB advocates for equitable publishing practices, funds diverse authors, and encourages publishers and educators to include a wide range of voices in literature. Its goal is to foster empathy, inclusion, and understanding through storytelling for young audiences.
