WinFS
WinFS (Windows Future Storage) was a Microsoft technology designed to improve how files and data are stored, organized, and retrieved on computers. Instead of just saving files in folders, WinFS used a database approach, allowing data to be tagged with properties like categories, dates, or relationships. This made searching, filtering, and managing information more intuitive and efficient. Although it was eventually canceled, WinFS aimed to streamline data handling, making it easier for users to find and connect related information across their systems.
