Wine Natural (Wine 101)
Wine Natural, or Natural Wine, refers to wine made with minimal intervention, emphasizing organic or biodynamic grape growing and little to no added chemicals, preservatives, or processing agents during fermentation. Winemakers typically use native yeasts found on the grapes, avoiding artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and additives like sulfites. The result often showcases a more authentic expression of the vineyard’s terroir, with unique flavors and sometimes slight variations or imperfections. Natural wines aim to reflect the true character of the grapes and vineyard, offering a pure, vibrant tasting experience rooted in traditional, environmentally conscious practices.
