Windows Longhorn
Windows Longhorn was a codename for a version of Microsoft's operating system that was developed after Windows XP. It aimed to introduce advanced features like improved security, a more modern visual design, and new multimedia capabilities. However, the project faced delays and technical challenges, leading Microsoft to eventually cancel Longhorn and base subsequent releases on the more stable Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP code. Many of Longhorn's envisioned features reappeared later in Windows Vista. Overall, Longhorn was a transitional project that influenced the future of Windows, despite not being officially released as a standalone product.
