WIMP stands for Windows, Icons, Menus, and Pointer, which are the core elements of a graphical user interface (GUI). This system makes interacting with computers intuitive by visually organizing functions. "Windows" are rectangular screens displaying information or applications. "Icons" are small symbols representing programs or files that can be opened or moved. "Menus" are lists of commands or options you can choose from. The "Pointer" is the visual cursor controlled by a mouse or trackpad, used to select and interact with these elements. Together, WIMP enables users to operate computers efficiently without needing to type complex commands.
