Willie Stargell was a legendary Major League Baseball player who played as an outfielder and first baseman mainly for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1962 to 1982. Stargell was a seven-time All-Star and earned the nickname "Pops" for his mentorship to younger players. He is remembered as one of the greatest players in Pirates history, honored with induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988.
