William Rowe (philosopher)

William Rowe is a philosopher known for his work in the philosophy of religion and the problem of evil. He argued that the existence of intense suffering and pointless evil in the world is evidence against the idea of an all-powerful, all-good deity. His famous "Famous Fawn" example questions whether the suffering of a small animal in a forest event is compatible with the existence of a benevolent, omnipotent God. Rowe’s work challenges believers to address how and why evil exists if such a deity is supposed to be perfectly good.
