Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859) was a German folklorist, linguist, and one of the founders of the Brothers Grimm, alongside his brother Jacob. They are best known for collecting and popularizing traditional folktales, such as "Cinderella," "Snow White," and "Hansel and Gretel." Their work aimed to preserve German cultural heritage and the oral storytelling tradition. The Grimm brothers also contributed to the study of language and grammar, influencing modern linguistics. Their fairy tales, originally published in the early 19th century, remain influential and are celebrated for their moral lessons and insights into human nature.
