Wild Card Series

The Wild Card Series is a playoff round in Major League Baseball where the teams that didn't win their divisions but still had strong records get a chance to compete. These teams, called wild cards, play in a best-of-three series against each other. The winners advance to the next round of the playoffs. This format adds excitement and opportunity for teams that had good seasons but didn’t win their division, allowing more teams a shot at competing for the championship. The Wild Card Series is part of the overall postseason structure designed to determine the top teams for the final rounds.
