Whole Brain Emulation (WBE) is a theoretical process of creating a detailed digital replica of a human brain's structure and functioning. It involves scanning the brain's neurons and connections at a high resolution, then using computer models to simulate how the brain processes information. Essentially, it aims to transfer a person's mind—thoughts, memories, personality—into a computer, potentially allowing for digital consciousness or enhanced mental capabilities.
