Whiteheadian Metaphysics

Whiteheadian metaphysics, also known as process philosophy, views reality as a dynamic system of interconnected events rather than static objects. It emphasizes that everything is constantly changing and that "actual occasions"—the fundamental units of reality—are processes of becoming, influenced by and influencing other occasions. This interconnected flow forms a web of experience where existence is defined by relationships and ongoing evolution. The universe is thus seen as a unity of becoming, emphasizing process, change, and the interconnectedness of all things, rather than fixed, separate substances.
