White City Stadium

White City Stadium, located in London, was built in 1908 for the Olympic Games and later became famous for hosting major sporting events, including boxing matches and football games. It was an innovative steel and concrete structure with a large, covered seating area that could hold over 70,000 spectators. The stadium played a significant role in British sports history, hosting the 1908 Olympics and iconic events like the 1923 boxing match between Jack Dempsey and Luis Ángel Firpo. It was demolished in 1985, but its legacy as a pioneering sports venue remains important.
