Wheel cylinder
A wheel cylinder is a component of a vehicle's drum brake system. It is a small, cylindrical device located inside the brake drum that uses hydraulic pressure from the brake fluid to push brake shoes against the inside of the drum. When you press the brake pedal, brake fluid flows into the wheel cylinder, causing the pistons inside to move outward. This action forces the brake shoes against the drum, creating friction and slowing the wheel. Essentially, the wheel cylinder converts hydraulic pressure into mechanical movement to help stop the vehicle safely.
