what bodies can do
Bodies, such as the human body, are complex systems that perform vital functions to maintain health and life. They can grow, heal, and adapt; communicate through the nervous system; process information via the brain; circulate blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients; breathe to exchange gases; digest food to absorb energy; and regulate temperature and fluids. Bodies respond to their environment through senses and reflexes, and can reproduce to continue their species. Overall, bodies coordinate numerous interconnected processes that sustain life, enable movement, and allow interaction with the world around us.
