WGS84

WGS84 (World Geodetic System 1984) is a global coordinate system used to pinpoint locations on Earth's surface. It provides a standardized way to measure latitude, longitude, and altitude, combining a precise mathematical model of Earth’s shape (an ellipsoid) with a set of reference points. GPS devices rely on WGS84 to give accurate position data worldwide. Essentially, it acts like an invisible grid overlaying the planet, allowing different systems and maps to work together seamlessly for navigation, mapping, and geographic analysis.
