Wet AMD

Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration (Wet AMD) is an eye condition where abnormal blood vessels grow beneath the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. These vessels can leak fluid or blood, causing quick damage to the central vision needed for activities like reading or recognizing faces. This form of AMD progresses rapidly and requires prompt treatment, often with injections to stop vessel growth and prevent further vision loss. Early detection and management are crucial to preserving as much vision as possible.
