Western Armenian

Western Armenian is a dialect of the Armenian language spoken primarily by the Armenian communities originating from the western regions of historic Armenia, such as modern-day Turkey. It has distinct pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar differences from Eastern Armenian, which is used mainly in Armenia and the Armenian diaspora in the Middle East. Western Armenian holds cultural and historical significance for Armenians who migrated westward, especially after the Armenian Genocide. Although its use has declined due to historical upheavals, it remains an important symbol of Armenian heritage and identity among Western Armenian communities worldwide.
