Western alienation
Western alienation refers to the feeling of disconnect or frustration experienced by people in Western Canada, especially provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Many feel their regional interests, priorities, and identities are ignored or undervalued by the federal government, which is perceived to focus more on central Canada. This sense of marginalization can lead to political disengagement, calls for more regional autonomy, or expressions of dissatisfaction with national policies. It stems from economic concerns, cultural differences, and perceived unfairness in resource management and representation within Canada's political system.
