Welsh Language Board
The Welsh Language Board was a public body in Wales responsible for promoting and facilitating the use of the Welsh language. Its role included encouraging people to learn, speak, and use Welsh in daily life, supporting Welsh-medium education, and ensuring government and public services provided Welsh language options. Established to bolster Welsh language rights and its cultural presence, the Board worked to ensure that Welsh remained an active and vital part of Welsh society. In 2012, its functions were absorbed into Cymdeithas y Gymraeg (the Welsh Language Society) and other organizations.
