Weightlessness Experience
Weightlessness occurs when there is free-fall or continuous downward acceleration, creating the sensation of being without weight. In environments like orbiting spacecraft, objects and astronauts are in constant free-fall around Earth, so they experience no force of gravity relative to their surroundings. This condition, often called microgravity, doesn't mean gravity is absent but rather that the effects of gravity are effectively negated by free-fall motion. As a result, occupants feel buoyant and can float freely, experiencing a one-of-a-kind sensation of weightlessness.
