Weaving Techniques
Weaving techniques refer to various methods used to interlace threads or fibers to create fabric. Common techniques include plain weave, where threads cross in a simple over-under pattern; twill weave, characterized by diagonal lines that give fabric strength and texture; and satin weave, which produces a smooth surface with a glossy finish. Each technique affects the fabric's appearance, durability, and drape. Weaving can be done on looms, where the warp (longitudinal threads) is held tight while the weft (crosswise threads) is woven through. These techniques are fundamental in textile production, influencing everything from clothing to upholstery.
