Weaver ants

Weaver ants (genus Oecophylla) are highly social insects known for their complex nest-building skills. They create nests by weaving together leaves using silk produced by their larvae, forming a living, cocoon-like structure. These ants are territorial, aggressive predators that hunt insects and other small invertebrates, playing a vital role in controlling pests. They live in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia. Weaver ants are also valued in agriculture for natural pest control and are studied for their cooperative behavior and nest construction techniques.
