Weather Balloon
A weather balloon is a large, lightweight balloon filled with helium or hydrogen that rises into the atmosphere, carrying instruments called radiosondes. These instruments measure weather conditions such as temperature, humidity, air pressure, and wind speed at various altitudes. As the balloon ascends, it sends data back to meteorologists on the ground, helping them understand and predict weather patterns. Weather balloons can reach altitudes of 20 to 40 kilometers before bursting due to decreasing pressure. They are essential tools in meteorology for collecting upper-atmosphere data that cannot be obtained from ground-based observations alone.
