Waxing Crescent

A Waxing Crescent refers to a moon phase when a small portion of the moon is illuminated and visible from Earth, with the illuminated area gradually increasing. It occurs after the New Moon and before the First Quarter, as sunlight begins to reflect more of the moon's surface toward us. During this phase, typically about 1/4 to 1/2 of the moon appears lit, creating a slender, crescent shape. This transition period signifies the moon's waxing, meaning it is growing brighter each night until it reaches the First Quarter phase.
