Wax Resist
Wax resist is a technique used in art and craft where a layer of wax is applied to a surface, such as paper or fabric. The wax repels water-based dyes, paints, or inks, preventing them from sticking to the waxed areas. This allows artists to create designs with sharp lines, patterns, or color variations by masking certain parts of the surface. After applying the wax, the artist adds color or ink, then usually removes or melts away the wax to reveal the protected areas underneath, resulting in intricate, layered designs.
