Wax production

Wax production is a natural process in some animals and plants where they create a protective, water-resistant layer. For example, bees produce beeswax to build honeycombs that store honey and pollen, providing structural support and insulation. Similarly, plants like certain cacti produce waxes on their surfaces to reduce water loss and protect against environmental damage. This wax is made from complex molecules called lipids, synthesized in specialized cells, and stored until needed. The wax acts as a barrier, helping organisms conserve moisture, shield against pests, and survive harsh conditions.
