Wavefront aberrations
Wavefront aberrations are flaws in the way light travels through a lens or the eye, causing images to become blurry or distorted. Normally, light waves entering an eye or camera focus perfectly to produce a clear picture. When aberrations occur, these waves are unevenly bent or distorted, leading to visual imperfections such as blurriness, halos, or glare. They can result from irregularities in the eye's shape or limitations in a lens system. Modern diagnostics and corrective techniques, like laser eye surgery, aim to detect and minimize wavefront aberrations for sharper vision.
