Waterloo Campaign

The Waterloo Campaign (1815) was a series of military actions culminating in the Battle of Waterloo. It was fought as Napoleon Bonaparte, the former French emperor, attempted to regain power after escaping exile. Allied armies led by British Duke of Wellington and Prussian Field Marshal Blücher combined forces to stop him. The battle on June 18, 1815, resulted in a decisive defeat for Napoleon, ending his rule and leading to his final exile on Saint Helena. The campaign reshaped Europe, ending the Napoleonic Wars and paving the way for nearly a century of relative peace.
