Wasteland (concept)

A wasteland is an area of land that has been degraded and is no longer suitable for typical agricultural or natural plant growth. This degradation can result from environmental factors like drought, pollution, overuse, or deforestation, leading to soil erosion and loss of fertility. Wastelands often appear barren, with sparse vegetation, and can pose ecological and economic challenges. While they are considered unproductive natural zones, some wastelands have the potential for restoration through ecological rehab efforts, allowing them to regain productivity and support new plant and animal life.
