Wasp nests

Wasp nests are structures built by social wasps to house their colony. Made from paper-like material they create by chewing wood fibers mixed with their saliva, the nests often have a papery appearance with a series of interconnected cells. They serve as nurseries for developing wasp larvae and as protective homes for the colony. Nests vary in size and shape depending on the species, and are typically found in sheltered locations like tree branches, eaves, or ground. While some wasps are beneficial in controlling pests, their nests can pose stings if disturbed.
