Washington Court of Appeals
The Washington Court of Appeals is a state-level court that reviews decisions made by lower courts, such as superior courts, to ensure they were fair and legally correct. It does not hold trials or hear new evidence but, instead, evaluates whether errors occurred in the legal process. The court reviews cases in three geographic districts and its decisions help interpret state laws and set legal standards. Its rulings can be appealed further to the Washington Supreme Court, which is the highest state court. The Court of Appeals plays a vital role in ensuring justice and consistency in Washington’s legal system.
